Wall Hanging

Evening All,
This is another project I made for the Craft Stamper magazine competition. This time it was for the round sponsored by Creative Expressions. Could not believe it when this was shortlisted as well and was in the February issue of Craft Stamper!

Creative Expressions Stamps - Meadow Flora and British Wild Flowers
Cosmic Shimmer Mica Pigments – Sapphire Ultra, Jade Teal, Apple Green and Golden Mint
Cosmic Shimmer Mist – Aqua Lagoon and Golden
Cosmic Shimmer Vintage Mica Flakes – Precious Gold
Creative Expressions Metal leaf Embellishments – Medium and Small

To make the background take an A3 sheet of card and sponge with Distress inks (Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean, Shabby Shutters and Mowed Lawn) adding the blues and greens in different areas and blending well. Flick with water and blot dry. Spray lightly with Cosmic Shimmer Mists.

When completely dry cut piece from card to measure 21cm x 28.5cm, and cut this into nine pieces of 7cm x 9.5cm (keep pieces in order) Stamp each one with a script stamp using VersaMark ink and brush with Cosmic Shimmer Mica Powders and set.

Stamp the edges of pieces with the small texture stamps – cracks, dots and bricks with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

Stamps various flowers with VersaMark ink and white embossing powder, making some of the flowers overlap onto the adjoining piece.

Use scraps of card from the A3 piece to stamp butterflies in black and cut out. Ink with VersaMark and cover with clear embossing powder and attach to the panels. Stamp quotes in black onto scraps, trim and mount onto black card and onto panels.

Ink edges of each panel with black. On the outer panels tap with VersaMark ink and add UTEE, heat and repeat. While still hot cover with Cosmic Shimmer Mica Flakes, carefully press into UTEE, tap off excess and heat to ensure held in place by UTEE.

Mount each panel onto black card and mount in order onto bronze card.

Take five small and one medium leaf embellishment and tap with VersaMark ink, cover with clear detail embossing powder and heat. When nearly cool dust with Mica Powders and reheat to set. Attach to panels.

Colour a piece of ribbon with Distress inks and Cosmic Shimmer Mists. Attach to back and tie on metal leafs. Attach to mount board to finish.

Butterfly Frame

Morning Crafters,

I made this piece for Craft Stamper magazine competition. It was for the Stamper of the Year 2012, Round Five which was sponspored by IndigoBlu, so you had to use as least one IndigoBlu stamp.

This was published in the January issue of Craft Stamper as I was one of the Shortlisted entrants!

It started life as an old wooden frame which I painted a pale yellow and I have used Anenome Corner and Wild Meadow IndigoBlu stamps along with Mega Flake. I have used Distress Inks to colour the background then overstamped in a darker ink. The butterflies are stamped on acetate with StazOn and the guilding flakes are applied to the back.

These pictures show some of the detail in the butterflies and flowers a bit clearer and the dimension created on the outside of the frame.

It would have been great to win, but this was the first time I have entered this competition, so it really was exciting to be picked for the shortlist. Craft Stamper also sent the project back, so now it is hanging on my craft room wall.
